Yes, that could be one of the reasons why you're currently unable to charge. As communicated to our customers in March 2025, IBAN payments have been discontinued. Since then, charging via the Shell App and using the associated RFID card has only been possible with a registered credit or debit card.
To continue charging smoothly, please download the Shell App and update your payment method under “More > Payment Methods”.
This change applies exclusively to private customers.
