You can start the charging process using the Shell App or a Shell Recharge charging card.

Charging with the Shell App

1. Open the Shell App: Launch the Shell App and locate the charging station where you are currently.
2. Select a charging point: Choose the desired charging point and follow the instructions in the app.
3. Start and stop charging: You can start and stop the charging session directly in the app. Please note that you need to be near the charging station to do this.

Charging with the Shell Recharge Card

1. Connect your vehicle to the charging station using a cable.
2. Hold your Shell Recharge card against the marked area. Charging will start automatically.
3. To stop charging, hold the card against the station again.

If you encounter issues during this process, please ensure the following conditions are met:

• You have a digital or Shell App-activated Shell Recharge card with a valid payment method linked.
• Your vehicle is connected to a Shell Recharge fast charging station via a charging cable.

(Note: At stations operated by other providers, starting and stopping charging via the app cannot be guaranteed, as the stations must meet the necessary technical requirements.)

Charging without the Shell App – using a charging card or payment card

1. Authenticate at the station: Hold your charging card to the RFID symbol or your payment card (e.g., credit card) to the Payter terminal on the station.
2. Connect and charge: Follow the instructions on the station’s display. Plug the charging cable into your EV – charging will start automatically.
3. Stop charging: End the session the same way you started it – either with the charging card or the payment card.

Please note: For some vehicle models, the charging cable must also be unlocked from the vehicle, e.g., by unlocking the car again or using a separate release function. You can find instructions for this in your vehicle’s manual.
